Fixed Route Bus Service
Douglas County has fixed route bus service and complimentary ADA paratransit service. Four routes are serviced throughout the County.
- Downtown Douglasville and North Douglasville
- Douglas Boulevard, Stewart Parkway, Chapel Hill Road and Hospital Drive
- Thornton Road south of I-20 and Riverside Parkway
- A route that will connect the two Douglasville routes with the Thornton Road/Riverside route and will also connect with CobbLinc Route 30 to offer service to the H.E. Holmes MARTA station
Cutaways, or "mini-buses" that carry a driver and 14 passengers will be used for the service.
Transportation Voucher Program
Connect Douglas offers a Transportation Voucher Program for senior adults and disabled individuals. The purpose of the Voucher Program is to assist senior adults, age 60 and over, and disabled individuals, age 19 to 59, in paying for "quality of life" trips for purposes such as shopping, entertainment and visiting with friends and family. The seniors and disabled who are approved to participate in the program contact designated transportation providers directly to arrange trips and pay for them using vouchers they purchase at a highly discounted rate from the Mobility Coordinator who is a member of the Connect Douglas staff.
The Voucher Program offers assistance to seniors and the disabled with planning trips, particularly trips that offer a connection with a neighboring transportation provider such as MARTA or CobbLinc. Connect Douglas is also recruiting local transportation providers including taxi companies, van services and non-emergency medical transportation services to participate in the Voucher Program. Seniors, disabled individuals and transportation providers who would like more information about the Voucher Program can call 770-920-7437.
