The Douglas County Comprehensive Plan Update is underway!
The 2023 Comprehensive Plan Update is online for your review and comment!
Thank you to all of our citizens and stakeholders who have invested their time and energy into our plan update. We hope you see your vision for the community captured in the plan! Review the plan documents here. There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Board of Commissioners regular meeting. The purpose of the hearing is to adopt the 2023 Comprehensive Plan Update. You can also reach out to Allison Duncan or any of the Planning and Zoning staff to ask questions or provide feedback. About the Planning and Zoning Department
The Planning and Zoning Department serves the safety, convenience, order, and the general welfare of the County. The Department is responsible for preparing and maintaining the County’s Comprehensive plan, which serves as a blueprint and policy guide for the growth of the community. The staff provides guidance to every citizen, resident or business on interpretation and administration of the adopted Ordinances, such as the Unified Development Code, Development Standards and Sign Ordinance.
