Park Security

ParkPatrolThe uniformed security division consists of seven officers patrolling all Douglas County parks 365 days a year to ensure the safety of citizens, staff and property.

Top 10 Park Rules

  • Absolutely no alcohol or drugs allowed on park property.
  • The speed limit for all vehicles is 15 miles per hour within all parks.
  • Profane language, fighting, and endangering the safety of other park users is PROHIBITED.
  • Damaging or defacing park property is PROHIBITED.
  • No camping or spending the nights in a park is allowed unless authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • No dumping of household trash in park dumpsters.
  • Vehicles must be parked in designated parking spaces, or they will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • No four-wheelers are allowed on park trails.
  • No sales allowed in parks unless authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • No littering on park property.

The Department of Parks and Recreation offers great hiking trails in various locations around Douglas County. We encourage you to take advantage of these trails as often as you can for leisure and/or exercise. If at any point you find yourself lost in any of our trails and need assistance or have a medical emergency, please contact our Park Security at 770-920-7129.  If your emergency is after hours please dial 9-1-1 immediately.
