Business License / Occupational Tax
The Occupational Tax Department is responsible for issuing Occupational Tax Registrations for In-home and Commercial locations, better known as a business license, for the unincorporated jurisdiction of Douglas County.
All properties located in unincorporated Douglas County are required to be in compliance with the codes contained in the Douglas County Unified Development Code, the Douglas County Code of Ordinances, and the International Property Maintenance Code.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department links geographic information (where things are) with descriptive information (what things are like). By combining digital maps with associated tabular data, we enable people to quickly access, query, analyze and make well-informed decisions in areas such as planning, transportation, tax assessment, public safety, and land management.

The Department is responsible for preparing and maintaining the County’s Comprehensive plan, which serves as a blueprint and policy guide for the growth of the community.
To be placed on the list of vendors for Douglas County, firms and individuals must complete a Vendor Application form, and include the subject areas for which they want to be considered.
