Teesha Carter currently serves as the Director of Human Resources for Douglas County, Georgia. In this role, she oversees the overall administration, coordination and function of the department. She leads a staff of human resources professionals who service and support Douglas County’s most valuable asset- its workforce. Moreover, she embodies the moral principle that collaboration, engagement and accountability help to develop esteemed leaders.
Mrs. Carter earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Christopher Newport University and a Master of Arts Degree in Urban Affairs/ Human Resources from Norfolk State University. Additionally, Mrs. Carter earned the Certified Human Resource Manager certification via the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.
She is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Rockdale. She has extensive experience in talent and process management and has held positions with various non-profit organizations, the State of Virginia and most recently Rockdale County, Georgia.
A native of Hampton Roads, Virginia, she views the relocation to metro Atlanta as a strategic component in maximizing her impact. She is a devoted wife and mother of two amazing sons. Additionally, she is an enthusiastic and committed advocate fulfilling the call to serve through several community affiliations including the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Toastmasters International, Elizabeth Baptist Church and The Fox Theatre.
