Douglasville, Georgia – County leadership was made aware today of an incident involving a Douglas County employee who was captured on video using a racial slur in conversation with a patron. An internal investigation is underway to determine the facts and circumstances associated with the incident.
Consistent with Human Resources policy, the employee has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. County leadership has made it clear this type of language is not appropriate nor will it be tolerated.
"The Douglas County Public Libraries pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive space for all of our residents and visitors,” Lindy Moore, Director of Douglas County Libraries said. “The comments made do not represent the values and views of the Douglas County Public Libraries System or Douglas County Government."
