Douglas County, Georgia - Keep Douglas County Beautiful held its first Junk Dump for citizens to dispose of their household trash and recyclables, free of charge! The event took place at the courthouse on Saturday, March 19th, and KDCB staff and volunteers helped citizens unload a total of about 281 cars.
“We are grateful to all who came out and participated and contributed to the results from the Junk Dump, and we are excited to make this a quarterly event for our residents”, said Keep Douglas County Beautiful coordinator, Tabrieah Cobb. “My goal is to provide a free, convenient opportunity for citizens to remove and dispose of unwanted trash, recyclables, and appliances from their homes, yards, and out of our roads.”
City and County residents began dropping off their items around 8:30 am. Among those items were: toilets, T.V. screens, appliances, medical waste, furniture, etc. Keep Douglas County Beautiful urges citizens to remember that for all upcoming Junk Dumps, the event is over once the dumpsters are filled to capacity.
Keep Douglas County Beautiful is proud to boost its recycling efforts and encourage all citizens to take advantage of resources that make recycling easier than ever.
