1. Is there a grace period after my birthday to get my tag renewed?

No.  You are mailed the renewal notice approximately 60 days before your birthday and your renewal is due by midnight of your birthday.

2. What if my vehicle does not pass emissions?

We recommend having your vehicle inspected 4 to 6 weeks prior to your registration renewal date to allow for any needed repairs. If it gets to your renewal date and your vehicle has failed the emissions test, a repair waiver may be issued if you meet all of the specified qualifications. 3. I am not driving my vehicle. Do I need to renew my tag?

If the car is driveable, regardless of whether you are driving it or not, it is required to have a current tag.

4. I did not get a renewal notice for all my license plates. How can I get one?

Please contact us in the Tag Office for a renewal notice.  Please provide us with your license plate numbers.
